DDB-Importer module for Foundry not working with D&D 4.0

After updating my D&D game worlds on Foundry to the latest D&D 4.0 game system (and later 4.0.1) I noticed that our integration to D&D Beyond was no longer functioning and that the module was grayed out. I did try to update it, but no new update came and the module remained broken. While my players got to try out some of the new changes in the D&D game game system in Foundry, they weren’t able to sync with their D&D Beyond character sheets.

After digging in to find out more, I came across the Discord for the developer (MrPrimate) who stated the following:

“The D&D 5e system has just released version 4.0.0. DDB Importer is not currently compatible with this version. A limited functionality version will be released early next week adding some support.”

If you do rely on the DDB-Importer for your games, make sure not to update to D&D 4.0 until the module has been patched. We’re stuck for now, but this module gets regular updates all the time so I’m hopeful we shall see a new release soon!
